Sarah goes a bit daring
in next concert
Kinetic, creative,
and different best describe Sarah Geronimo’s next big gig at the Big
Dome "Sarah Geronimo In Motion," the young pop star’s second major
concert at the Araneta Coliseum on July 14.
Her manager Vic del Rosario says, it was entitled "In Motion"
because of the phenomenal surge in Sarah’s career."
Del Rosario doesn’t want to reveal too
many details of the show because he wants to surprise Sarah’s fans.
He says, however, that it’s going to be a four-part concert. "I can
tell you the show is going to be different. For one thing, it’s
going to be the first time you’ll see Sarah dance." July was the
month chosen for the concert because Sarah’s birthday is on July 25.
She says, "I’m so thrilled about the concert. My fans will be seeing
a different me. I’ll be dancing and my costumes will be somewhat
sexy."
Big things are in store still for Sarah
this year. After her Araneta concert, she’s off to Clark in Pampanga
on July 21 for another show. She is due to release her new album
"Taking Flight" very soon. Then she starts her new soap opera on
ABS-CBN with Jericho Rosales which is expected to be bigger than the
blockbuster "Bituing Walang Ningning" last year. Finally, her
launching movie which will pair her with John Lloyd Cruz comes next.
Without question Sarah is the hottest
showbiz performer this year. Aside from her TV shows, she’s in
demand as commercial endorser. Last December, she was voted the most
popular household favorite on Philippine television by the Anak TV
Seal. Singing engagements not only here but abroad have made her an
international celebrity.
As a recording artist, Sarah is the new
superstar. To think that she was only 14 when she released her first
album "Popstar: A Dream Come True." The album was a platinum hit six
times over, selling more than 180,000 copies. Recently she received
the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Award as the most popular female
recording artist.
She has not let success spoil her
though. "I’m thankful for everything good that has happened to me.
And I owe a debt of gratitude to all the people who helped me get to
where I am now." |
